Daniel is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana - making Houston, Texas home since 2005. He Fell in love with photography at the University of New Orleans learning the process and history of black and white photography.

As an artist and an activist, Shelley Shanks regularly participates in projects, education, and collaborations benefiting nonprofit groups making a difference in the world.  In 2000, Shanks initiated the organization Artists Breaking the Cycle, a local group of artists, musicians, and writers who work collaboratively with other community organizations on a variety of projects making the world a better place.
